Memorial Day

The pluming in our apartment started to get backed up Sunday due to roots in the sewer pipes and so we decided to go out of town and stay family for a weekend while things got fixed. So we packed our bags and drove about half a mile over to the Rognons and stayed the weekend with them. We woke up on Memorial Day and after reading our scriptures we looked up the grave for James Myler so we could take James-Myler to his great-great-grandfathers grave. We read the life story of James Myler, how he lived just outside of Kirtland and witnessed the April 3rd manefestations of the Temple and then how he joined the church and moved to Navoo. Then he left with the saints and eventually was part of the Mormon Battalion. He first settled in Farmington (just outside of Salt Lake City) and then moved to Logan and eventually up to Lewisville (just outside of Rexburg).

We decided to take our nephew Jack with us so that Michelle could get some work done. Jack loved the different flowers.

Jack also like to jump on the pine cones.

Next to the grave of James Myler we ran into an decendent of Martin Harris. Martin Harris' wife is buried right next to James Myler. Jack liked playing peek-a-boo with them.

After we got back we got ready for the big feast. Tommi made her aunts famous potatoe salad that I love so much and we also had hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob, watermelon, chips, tator tots. Let's just say before most of us finished our hamburgers we were already stuffed!
