Our First Camping trip

So this weekend our ward had a camp out. It was the first time me and Alan had gone camping together so we were really excited. it was really nice having tons of camping gear already all we needed was bug spray : ). our ward provided dinner and breakfast so we still haven't experienced camping on our own yet. but it was a great trip. we also had a fire side that night with the sounds of sunday guy. it was amazing it reminded me of girls camp, feeling the spirit being cold and enjoying being outside.

After the festivities Alan and I went stargazing and then settled down for a movie in the tent. (it seemed kinda weird) but were doing the Harry potter Marathon in preparation for the new movie.

We forgot to take pictures during the camp out but we went hiking after breakfast and took a lot of really fun shots.
There were a lot of really cool looking flowers on our little hike we learned these purple ones aren't native and coke the plants the animals need for food... they do look kinda mean

I thought they looked like something that would be in a doctor Seuss book.

there were a lot of really cool flowers that I've never seen before, I didn't know this area could look so exotic.

These forget me nots were every where! they're my favorite so alan took a picture of me with them.

Husband really like the view of the snake river so I took one of him with the river. I think he looks so cute! I agree with husband though the view was wonderful.

Fourth of July Celebrations

So this Fourth we sure did have a blast! After enjoying two days off of school and work we were well rested and prepared for our first Independence Day celebration together. We got up and made some yummy French Breakfast Puffs and made our way down the street to find a good spot to watch the parade. Once we found a good spot we made some calls to make sure that Julie came to her first Rexburg Parade. We staked out our spot with Tommi's new birthday present(s) - two camping chairs.

Julie and Cassidy showed up just in time as the parade was starting and James, Michelle, Jack and Elena showed up just a little time after them. We all enjoyed the different floats, even if we questioned why some of them were in a "Fourth of July" parade like this StarWars float, or crazy car wash boy scout guy.

We really enjoyed watching some of jacks reactions as well.

Tommi loves being able to spend time with Elena, but then again who wouldn't want to hold such a beautiful little girl. We also enjoyed Jacks new dance moves. It took us a while to figure out why he kept on tripping, but then realized he was doing it on purpose. Perhaps you can figure out why he did it...

After the parade we all went over to James and Michelle's place and fried up some hot dogs and enjoyed each others company. We really appreciated the wonderful time we had to spend together that night to talk with each other about embarrassing stories and play games.
