First Family Outing of 2010

On the first sunny Friday of this semester, which was actually warm, we decided to go on a family outing. Tommi made the chicken salad sandwiches and decided to have a picnic up on top of R mountain.

Aunt Julie decided to come with us. Little did we know that she had told Michelle she would baby sit until we were on our way to the top of the mountain (at 6:00 and she was suppose to baby sit at 7:00). Things worked out and it was fun.



Tommi was a trooper and was the first one on top. Not bad for the first hike after recovering.

Disneyland

Thanks to James, he told us that Disneyland had a special deal on their tickets where they were selling their 5 day passes for the price of a 3 day pass. We then thought about going to Disneyland (which we were originally going to do for our honeymoon, but timing didn't work out). So for Tommi's birthday I bought two tickets so we could go down this August.

Later that night while I was gone at Bishopric Meeting and doing interviews Tommi sneaked on my email account and found the confirmation email and spoiled the surprise. Neither of us have been for a while and are open for ideas on what to do and rides that you liked the most.



Tommi is really looking forward to riding Space Mountain as she didn't get to ride it during her last trip to the funnest place on earth.



I am really looking forward to Pirates of the Caribbean as it was being updated for the new movies the last two times that I went.

Now the next step, find out when everyone is getting married so we can plan our trip : )

Happy Baby

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday Liz comes with Jimmy and brings me lunch so I can enjoy something to eat in between my studies, work, and classes. After lunch today Jimmy thought he would smile for his dad and here are some of the pictures.

James-Myler's Baby Blessing

On Saturday, April 10th in the morning we had the baby blessing for Little Jimmy. We enjoyed the company of many family and friends that came and celebrated the occasion with us. We had the Rognons, Francoms, Williams, Bakers, and Tonnies Family come.

Smiling Baby

So Little Jimmy is 7 weeks old today and so he felt like celebrating by being very happy when he got to see his daddy in between when I had a work meeting and Bishopric Meeting tonight.






This is from a few weeks ago but Tommi thought it was great that we matched. She often comments that when I fall asleep with Jimmy that we sleep with our arms in the same way and breath the same way.

Newborn Pics

When little Jimmy was only a few days old we decided it was time to take some newborn shots. Luckily for us my brother-in-law and sister run a photography business and so we were able to get some really cute pictures.

Welcome James-Myler

We had a plan going into Jimmy's birth that Tommi would try to go natural. She told me to not let her talk herself out of it. We had a few fun experiences as they told us to go in if contractions where consistent and less than 5 minutes apart, which we did but two weeks before Jimmy was born. Tommi's family came down on the Saturday before he was born because Tommi started back labor, but still no baby.

Come Monday night, we went over to Rognon's and made some yummy donuts and I noticed Tommi getting up and using the restroom every few minutes. At about 11:00 we put on "Father of the Bride II" as part of our inducement party as Tommi was scheduled to be induced the next morning at 8:00 am. At about 11:30 Tommi told me it was time to go home as her contractions were getting a lot more intense. We didn't really think anything of it as she had been having contractions for two weeks by then and figured that they would follow the trend - getting a little worse and then not doing anything beyond that.

When we got home Tommi could barely last as the contractions got within about two minutes of each other. We got to the hospital at 12:30am and though, we did what Jim and Pam couldn't - wait to go to the hospital until after midnight to get an extra day in the hospital. When we got there Tommi was at a 4 and were emitted. They gave Tommi an IV because every time she had a contraction the baby's heart rate dropped which indicated the the umbilical cord was probably wrapped around his neck. They hoped that with the IV it would get more fluid in the cord and get it off of the neck.After about two hours of that they finally let Tommi get up and walk around and by then the contractions were extremely painful and she decided on getting an epidural. We laugh because once I told her that she could get one she could barely feel the next contraction because she knew it would be the last one.

Once Tommi got the epidural she felt much better and I was able to finish up a few papers that I had due that morning. It was perfect timing because right after I finished my papers at 6:00 am Tommi started going into delivery. We had the best nurse ever and she helped us feel very calm and in control. After two hours of pushing it was time! We were excited our favorite Doctor was on call and would be delivering, but then a curve ball was thrown in there. Our least favorite doctor was the one that walked in the door. I think the nurse felt that and asked why he was there. Apparently about 13 other people went into labor around the same time and they needed extra hands. After a funny series of events (which were not funny at the time, but are now that we look back on them) James-Myler Monson Williams was born at 8:13 am on Tuesday, March 23, 2010.

Maternity Pictures

We know we are a little late on getting this blog updated, but hopefully we will do a much better job now that we are getting more used to our new responsibilities and roles.

Back in March Michelle decided to take some maternity pics for us to remember just how much it looked like Tommi was hiding a basketball under her shirt.


We couldn't believe how when you looked at Tommi from the back she didn't even look pregnant.
